Packtale Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 9, 2026

Packtale is built so your information stays yours. Here is exactly what happens to your data.

Your data stays on your device (and your iCloud)

Everything you create in Packtale — your trips, packing lists, templates, and custom items — is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, this content also syncs to your own private iCloud database using Apple's CloudKit, so it stays available across your devices. That data lives in your personal iCloud account: the developer cannot see or access it and operates no servers of their own. If you are not signed in to iCloud, your data simply stays on your device.

Weather

To show the weather for a trip, Packtale contacts Open-Meteo, a third-party weather service:

• When you search for a destination, the place name you type is sent to Open-Meteo to look up its location.
• When fetching weather, the destination's coordinates and your trip dates are sent to Open-Meteo.

No name, account, device identifier, or other personal identifier is attached to these requests. See Open-Meteo's privacy terms: https://open-meteo.com/en/terms

No tracking, no accounts

Packtale contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. There are no user accounts and no sign-up. Nothing about how you use the app is collected or sent anywhere.

Notifications

If you turn on the pack reminder, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. They are not sent through any server.

Deleting your data

• To remove all local data, delete the Packtale app from your device.
• To remove data stored in iCloud, go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Packtale and delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new effective date.
